Advanced Algebra
& Trigonometry |
 |
We won't be
having class on Tuesday, 3/9, due to the morning testing. Luckily,
all AA&T sections are in the morning, so no one will get ahead or behind
because of the strange schedule. |
 |
The test on
trigonometric ratios and equations has been graded and posted. I'll
hand those back on Wednesday, 3/10, so that students will have them to
study for the quarter test. |
 |
Speaking of the
quarter test, it is scheduled for Thursday, 3/11. The students
already have the review sheet, which references previous quiz and test
questions that are similar in concept to those on the quarter test.
All resources can be found on the course page.
We will also review in class on Wednesday, 3/10. |
 |
We've had a lot
of absences lately - fields trips, illness, early spring breaks, etc - so
there is still a lot of make-up work lingering about. Any remaining
quizzes and/or tests will be replaced using the quarter test.
Assignments are past due anyway, so those will remain as zeros. If a
student misses the quarter test, he/she will receive an incomplete for the
quarter. |
 |
Next up,
trigonometric functions (basically, the graphing side of trig). |
|
| AP Calculus

 |
We will be
having class on Tuesday, 3/9, although I suspect everyone will be
drained... the seniors will be exhausted from the field trip and the
juniors will have just gone through three hours of testing! We will
use the time to make up anything from previous absences and also review
for the unit test. |
 |
Speaking of the
unit test, the students decided to have it on
Wednesday, 3/10. |
 |
Just a reminder
that the practice multiple-choice exam is due on Tuesday, 3/9. I've
encouraged everyone to first try it in a timed setting (55 minutes), then
go back through the problems again to better review the concepts. |
 |
The differential
equations project (the one involving circuits) is due on Friday, 3/12. |
 |
There is no
quarter test in this course (AP has the option of giving one, so I'm
choosing to continue with the instruction due to a loss of time earlier
this semester). |
 |
We are still
practicing AP free-response questions several times a week - some for a
grade, some for instructional purposes. Please note that it takes
six to make a single grade, hence the time between scores in Parent
Connection. |
 |
Please remember
that the grade shown in Parent Connection does not include the 5
point AP bonus at this time (it'll get added when I enter in the exam
grades). |
